Breast cancer doesn't take a day off and neither should you!

Join Team NJAWBO for the October 3rd Race for the Cure!

As part of our NJAWBO Cares Initiative, we have partnered with Susan G. Komen Central and South New Jersey to participate in the Race for the Cure.  The Race will be held at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ.  You can walk, run or even Sleep-in for the Cure. There is an event for everyone, even Children's Fun Runs for the kids 10 years old and under. Our team will also compete against other Race groups for participation and fundraising awards, not to mention bragging rights!

Team NJAWBO is organized by chapter and will participate in the 1 mile walk at 10:00 am the morning of October 3rd. Get there by 9:00 am for free parking. The Race will be around the  parking lot of Hurricane Harbor. There will be a prize for the chapter that has the most participants on race day and a prize for the chapter that raises the most money in donations.  The winners will be announced the first night of the NJAWBO Annual Conference on October 4th at the Night For Giving.  So when you register or donate, please don’t forget to choose your chapter from the dropdown.

More than a run and walk, the Race is a celebration of breast cancer survivors and hope for a future without breast cancer.  We must find a way to eradicate this cancer.   Part of that process is to make people aware of the problem.  The other part is raising the money to fund innovative breast cancer research as well as to help fund local breast cancer screening and education programs in our neediest communities.  How fitting that so much of the money that goes into the research and community support is raised from those who have had the disease and her family and friends.  We want to change the system and we are putting our money and resources where our mouths are!
