Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Central and South Jersey Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Volunteers are the heart and soul of Komen. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help us in the fight against breast cancer. The first step in becoming a Komen Central & South Jersey Affiliate Volunteer is to complete our Volunteer Application. Once we have your current profile in the database, you will be contacted via an e-mail blast on an as needed basis. The amount of volunteer opportunities depends upon the number of upcoming activities.

Central and South Jersey Affiliate Office

When:     Monday-Friday 9 am - 5 pm

Location:  2 Princess Road, Suite D, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

Job Description:  Office volunteers can assist with data entry, database management and internet research, helping with mailings, filing, etc.

When:  Ongoing

Locations:  Throughout the Central & South Jersey service area

Job Description:  Groups throughout our community often request our participation in their health fairs. This usually involves an information table or booth for educational materials to be displayed and distributed. Volunteers are needed to set up and take down Komen's display, staff the booth, hand out materials and answer any questions that attendees might have.

When:  Ongoing

Location:  Throughout the Central & South Jersey service area

Job Description:  Groups throughout our community often request our participation at special events. This usually involves an information table or booth for educational materials to be displayed and distributed as well as merchandise being sold. Some events include accepting a check on behalf of the affiliate. 

Volunteers are needed to set up and take down Komen's display, staff the booth, hand out materials and answer any questions that attendees might have as well as help sell merchandise. Usually there are multiple shifts with 2 or more volunteers per shift. Many of the third party event organizer’s request speakers for their events. A script / talking points will be provided to the volunteer. It usually includes thanking the organizer and saying a few words about the affiliate.

Job Description:  Be a part of the Komen signature events including Race for the Cure, Spirit of Jane Rodney Reception and many other exciting functions!

Many volunteer opportunities are available prior to the event as well as the day of. Opportunities include leadership or committee roles and are specifically tailored to the event.  

Each year the Central & South Jersey Affiliate is in need of volunteers interested in leadership roles for our signature events.  If you are an individual who works well with people, has outstanding organizational skills, writing & communication skills; enjoys event planning, networking, and is willing to commit to an event, a leadership role may be the right volunteer opportunity for you.
