The New Jersey Oyster Bowl at Blue Point Grill has become a tradition before the "big game".  Oyster lovers can compete in several heats, while others can watch the fun.  There will be lunch specials at Blue Point Grill, activities for the Kids including face painting and a special Oyster Cracker Toss, an appearance by WPST and many special guests.  Over 200 people turned out in 2008. 


Oyster Bowl X Registration

Corporate Teams - $200
Includes 4 registrations and recognition for your company or organization.

Individuals - $45
Includes all the oysters you can eat in a two minute heat!

Online registration is now closed, but you can still register on the day of the event beginning at 11:00 am.  You must be signed up by 12:00 noon.

Event Details

11:00 am - Registration Begins
(All participants must check in before the 1st heat at 12:00 pm)

11:00 am - 2:00 pm - Blue Point Grill is open for lunch with proceeds supporting the event.

Activities for the kids, special prize drawings and other surprises!

12:30 pm - The 1st heat begins! 

2:00 pm - Winners announced and closing ceremonies.

 

 Contest Rules

1) Contestants will be given 2 minutes to devour  all the oysters they can. Lemon & cocktail sauce will be provided.

2) When a contestant finishes an oyster, they must place the empty shell into the bucket provided. Only empty oyster shells will be counted.

3) Contestants can only use their hands during the competition. No glasses, funnels or drinks will be allowed at the table.

4) Prizes will be based upon highest number of oysters consumed (across all heats) in the 2-minute period. An individual and team prize will be awarded. A minimum of 36 oysters per person must be consumed for qualification.

5) Contestants feeling the urge to…regurgitate… during the event must do so into their oyster bucket and we aren’t about to dig through that. Disqualified!

6) In case of a tie, contestants will be given a 1 minute slurp-off, followed by a 30-second slurp-off if needed. If still tied after that, winner is decided by an arm wrestling contest.
